Lunch: Tortilla Wrap Nachos
and a Mandarin
Ingredients: 1 x Bakers Life Wholegrain Wraps (Aldi)
75 grams Edgell Red Kidney Beans (Coles)
50 grams El Tora Medium Chunky Salsa Dip (Aldi)
20 grams Westacre Tasty Grated Cheese (Aldi)
10 grams Farmers Union Light Greek Yoghurt (Coles)
1 x California Mandarin (Aldi)
*This lunch cost: $2.06 and would last approximately 6 servings due to the amount of Salsa.
I didn't want to have Sandwiches or Salad Wraps all this week, how exciting would that be for you to read? So I started thinking of new ways of doing things with the current ingredients I had. I had Salsa so I thought of Nachos but wasn't sure what to use as the chips. I then had an idea to nuke the Tortilla Wraps in the microwave and wasn't sure what to do if they went horribly wrong, but they worked out perfect!
To make the Tortilla Wrap Chips:
Place the Wrap on a Microwave safe plate and cut into 8 pieces (4 halves), you can cut them however you like but just do it before nuking them.
I then cut those sections in half horizontally and then placed them in the Microwave. I nuked them for 1 minute (1100 watt), took them out, turned them over and placed them back in for 30 seconds. Just be careful as the plate will be hot.
They turned out nice and crunchy. You can even put seasonings or flavourings on them if you wish. To make the Nacho mix I combined Red Kidney Beans with Salsa and heated the mixture. I then added Cheese, melted that on top and added a dollop of natural Yoghurt, because to me it tastes like sour cream. You could add beef, or whatever you like, I just wanted to keep it quick and simple.

Dinner: Lean Cuisine (Woolworths)
You know how I said I was running out of time? I had friends coming over and didn't realise how late it was and before I knew it they arrived. They had all had dinner previously, we got to talking and about 9pm I realised that I hadn't eaten dinner! I know! It's horrible! Truth is though, I really wasn't hungry as I had my last snack about 6pm.
Dinner would have cost: $6.69
*Total cost for today's portions: $10.98
*These prices are calculated by current costs and specials and calculated per gram or item.
Keep in mind that I'm also consuming about 1500 calories on average.
Glasses of water: 8
Exercise: Dancing and Cleaning
This blog is really a labour of love and it does take a lot longer now that I am calculating the prices and adding recipes. I really enjoy doing it but hours can go by quite easily, especially today! I realised in the afternoon that I didn't have time to do a full hour of dancing that I normally do and have time to clean the house, so I combined them.
I put on some tunes, danced for around 20 minutes and then danced around cleaning. It worked! I got so much done and I didn't even mind doing it! If I could have incorporated some wine into the mix I think things would have been a whole lotmessier funner! ;)
