quick healthy breakfast
Mmmm Nutty and Fruity
This cereal mix was so good yesterday I decided to have it for breakfast this morning.  Seriously yummy!

healthy snack
Aren't they Grape
Morning Snack: Grapes (30 grams)
*This amount of Grapes cost: $0.05 and would last approximately 33 serves.

quick healthy lunch
Oldie but a goodie
Lunch: Baked Bean & Cheese Toastie

Ingredients: 2 slices Molenberg 12 Grain & Seeds Original (Coles)

100 grams Baked Beans (Aldi)
25 grams Westacre Tasty Shredded Cheese (Aldi)
1 Pink Lady Apple (Aldi)
*This lunch cost: $1.83 and would last approximately 4 serves due to the amount of Baked Beans.

Simple, quick and delicious.  I can't remember the last time I had a baked bean toastie.

healthy smoothie
Mmm Banana
Afternoon Snack: Banana Smoothie

Ingredients: 2 Cavendish Bananas (Aldi)
100 ml Paul's Smarter White Milk (Woolworths)
10 grams Kraft Peanut Butter No Added Sugar Or Salt (Woolworths)
*This smoothie cost: $0.76 and would last approximately 10 serves due to the amount of milk.

I wanted to use up the last of the Bananas as they were getting a bit brown.  I really don't think there was enough Peanut Butter to add any flavour, I'd leave it out next time.  The Berry Banana Shake (recipe here) is so much better than this, I will have to make it again!

weight watchers frozen meal review
Not So Hot
Dinner: Beef Hot Pot (Weight Watchers)
*This meal cost: $4.00 (Coles)
Thank you to those that told me about the special price, you know who you are :)

This meal was absolutely horrid! It looked disgusting, it's pretty bad when I can't make a dish look appealing.  It tastes just as bad as it looks, maybe even worse.
It was bland, salty, goopy and the meat was fatty, stay away!

*Total cost for today's portions: $7.48
*These prices are calculated by current costs and specials and calculated per gram or item.
Keep in mind that I'm also consuming about 1500 calories on average.

A smaller workout is better than none
Exercise: Dancing (About my routine here)

I had to cut it short today as my foot was sore, sometimes it happens when I stand, walk or dance on them too much.  My heel was hot, sore and I could barely walk on it, I soaked it in an ice bath and it seemed to help.  Does this happen to anyone else?

Smelled so good!
I've seen many versions of the Breakfast Cookie around and have been wanting to try one for a while.  I decided on this recipe because I had all the ingredients and it sounded pretty good and it was!  It smelled delicious coming out of the microwave, Banana, Oats and Cinnamon mmmmm.

quick healthy breakfast
Yum!
It does look a little strange I must admit but it is lovely!  It tasted like warm Banana, Oats, Brown Sugar and Walnuts all mixed together.  I will definitely make it again!  It's really quick to do.

Healthy snack
Just a little snack
Morning Snack: Grapes

Not very exciting with the morning snack, but I have 1 kg of Grapes to get through!

Tortilla Wrap Nacho
Nacho Nacho!

and a Mandarin
Ingredients: 1 x Bakers Life Wholegrain Wraps (Aldi)
75 grams Edgell Red Kidney Beans (Coles)
50 grams El Tora Medium Chunky Salsa Dip (Aldi)
20 grams Westacre Tasty Grated Cheese (Aldi)
10 grams Farmers Union Light Greek Yoghurt (Coles)
1 x California Mandarin (Aldi)
*This lunch cost: $2.06 and would last approximately 6 servings due to the amount of Salsa.

Healthy Nachos
So quick and Yummy!
I didn't want to have Sandwiches or Salad Wraps all this week, how exciting would that be for you to read?  So I started thinking of new ways of doing things with the current ingredients I had.  I had Salsa so I thought of Nachos but wasn't sure what to use as the chips.  I then had an idea to nuke the Tortilla Wraps in the microwave and wasn't sure what to do if they went horribly wrong, but they worked out perfect!

tortilla chips
Step: 1
To make the Tortilla Wrap Chips:
Place the Wrap on a Microwave safe plate and cut into 8 pieces (4 halves), you can cut them however you like but just do it before nuking them.

microwave tortilla chips
Step: 2
I then cut those sections in half horizontally and then placed them in the Microwave.  I nuked them for 1 minute (1100 watt), took them out, turned them over and placed them back in for 30 seconds.  Just be careful as the plate will be hot.

microwave chips
Step: 3 & 4
They turned out nice and crunchy.  You can even put seasonings or flavourings on them if you wish.  To make the Nacho mix I combined Red Kidney Beans with Salsa and heated the mixture.  I then added Cheese, melted that on top and added a dollop of natural Yoghurt, because to me it tastes like sour cream.  You could add beef, or whatever you like, I just wanted to keep it quick and simple.

quick snack
Just a quick snack
Afternoon Snack: Rice Cake with Hommus
Rice Cake with Peanut Butter and Banana
Ingredients: 2 x Pure Harvest Rice Cakes (Aldi)
20 grams Coles Simply Less Hommus Dip (Coles)
10 grams Kraft Peanut Butter No Added Sugar Or Salt (Woolworths)
1/2 Cavendish Banana (Aldi)
*These snacks together cost: $0.79 and would last approximately 10 serves.

The snacks this afternoon aren't very original but I ran out of time.  I just needed something quick to have in the afternoon and after exercising.

quick healthy snack
Mmm Look at that Peanut Butter!
Dinner: Lean Cuisine (Woolworths)

You know how I said I was running out of time?  I had friends coming over and didn't realise how late it was and before I knew it they arrived.  They had all had dinner previously, we got to talking and about 9pm I realised that I hadn't eaten dinner!  I know! It's horrible!  Truth is though, I really wasn't hungry as I had my last snack about 6pm.

Dinner would have cost: $6.69
*Total cost for today's portions: $10.98
*These prices are calculated by current costs and specials and calculated per gram or item.
Keep in mind that I'm also consuming about 1500 calories on average.

obese fitness
Just a small workout today

Exercise: Dancing and Cleaning

This blog is really a labour of love and it does take a lot longer now that I am calculating the prices and adding recipes.  I really enjoy doing it but hours can go by quite easily, especially today!  I realised in the afternoon that I didn't have time to do a full hour of dancing that I normally do and have time to clean the house, so I combined them.

I put on some tunes, danced for around 20 minutes and then danced around cleaning.  It worked!  I got so much done and I didn't even mind doing it!  If I could have incorporated some wine into the mix I think things would have been a whole lot messier  funner! ;)
